Civic Gardens

Over the years, Rusticus Garden Club has maintained the following sites:
Bedford Free Library Garden
John Jay Homestead Terrace Garden
Bedford Hills Library - window boxes and planters
Mount Kisco Child Care Center - window boxes and planters

In addition, during the summer of 2007, Rusticus Garden Club installed borders for the courtyard of the recently completed Northern Westchester Hospital Cancer Center. Co-sponsored by the Northern Westchester Hospital Foundation and private donors, this project was commissioned in memory of Rusticus' long time member, Margaret (Toddy) Dunham, and will be affectionately remembered by members as "Toddy's Garden."

Bedford Free Library Garden

The Bedford Free Library Garden has recently transitioned to a sun garden after the demise of the stately sycamore. A new design incorporates sun-loving plants such as Paaeonia 'Raspberry Sundae';
Stachys byzantiana 'Big Ears'; Stachys byzantiana 'Silver Carpet'; Nepeta faasenji ' Dropmore'; Rosa 'Radtkoink'; Hydrangea paniculata "Limelight'; Geranium 'Roseanne'; Spirea bumalda 'Lime Mound'; Buxus microphylla 'Green Gem'; and Polygonatum odoratum. Come visit the garden and enjoy a quiet reverie on one of the library's benches. We will continue to enrich the garden over the seasons, so please wander by often! Click here for 2013 photos.
