Civic Gardens

Over the years, Rusticus Garden Club has maintained the following sites:
Bedford Free Library Garden
John Jay Homestead Terrace Garden
Bedford Hills Library - window boxes and planters
Mount Kisco Child Care Center - window boxes and planters

In addition, during the summer of 2007, Rusticus Garden Club installed borders for the courtyard of the recently completed Northern Westchester Hospital Cancer Center. Co-sponsored by the Northern Westchester Hospital Foundation and private donors, this project was commissioned in memory of Rusticus' long time member, Margaret (Toddy) Dunham, and will be affectionately remembered by members as "Toddy's Garden."

Mount Kisco Child Care Center

For the Mount Kisco Child Care Center, Rusticus planted 8 sunny window boxes filled with Wave petunia purple, Angellonia dark violet, Calibrachoa double blue, and Helichrysum silver lining. We also filled 3 shaded window boxes with Impatiens accent violet and Fuchsia angels' earrings. The two planters at the front entrance are planted with
Wave petunia purple, Calibrachoa double blue, and Salvia victoria blue.
The purple petunias are in fact magenta, so the color scheme for the Center is magenta, blue and a touch of silver!
